Hi, I’m Nandhini sundaram

YNW Coach Nandhini Sundaram

I’m the founder of YNW Coaching and I know what it's like to lead from empty.

For nearly 20 years, I worked in advertising — leading teams, navigating fast-paced environments, managing high-stakes clients and carrying increasing responsibility.

From the outside, I was successful. Respected. Capable.

From the inside? Leadership often felt unsustainable.

Like many women in senior roles, I struggled with balance, pressure and the quiet belief that the cost I was paying was simply part of the deal. I carried responsibility deeply. I cared about outcomes and people. And I pushed myself to keep up even as the internal strain accumulated.

What I didn't lack was capability or ambition.

What I did lack was a way to lead that didn't require constant self-sacrifice.

What Changed for Me

My relationship to leadership shifted when I stopped trying to "manage" exhaustion and started redesigning how I carried responsibility.

I learned how to:

  • Create internal steadiness in high-pressure environments

  • Lead with authority without over-functioning

  • Stay committed without burning out

  • Protect my energy without disengaging from the work I cared about

Leadership didn't become easier, but it became sustainable.

And that shift changed everything.

Why I Do This Work

I started YNW Coaching — Your New Way — because I kept seeing the same pattern…

Talented, empathetic, highly capable women were leaving leadership earlier than they wanted to. Quietly questioning whether the cost was worth it. Hardening, pulling back, or burning out, often without calling it that.

Not because they weren't strong enough. But because leadership systems were never designed with women's realities in mind.

We face different pressures. Different expectations. Different trade-offs.

Rest and time management aren’t enough. Sustainable Leadership requires a new way to work that supports our needs instead of forcing us to push through.

Because the world needs MORE women in leadership, not fewer. My mission is to help women leaders stay ambitious without burning out, lead with care without self-erasure, and remain effective, influential, and well as responsibilities rise.

Building sustainable leadership

It’s not about doing less or caring less.

It's about building the internal conditions that allow you to:

  • Lead well under sustained pressure

  • Make clear decisions without constant effort

  • Carry responsibility without absorbing everything

  • Stay aligned with yourself as expectations grow

My work focuses on three core dimensions of sustainable leadership:

  1. Stability: internal steadiness under ongoing demand

  2. Agency: real choice and authority in how you lead

  3. Integrity: alignment between values, judgment and action

When these are in place, leadership stops feeling like something you have to survive.

Women Leaders Need Different Support

Women in senior roles often carry:

  • More relational and emotional labor

  • Higher expectations around availability and care

  • Unspoken pressure to "hold it together"

  • Double standards around authority and likability

Empathy is a superpower that many women in leadership have, but without clear internal authority, it becomes one of the fastest paths to depletion.

I don't help women become less empathetic.

I help them lead empathetically and sustainably.

How I Work

I bring a practitioner's lens, not a theoretical one.

This is not generic coaching or performance optimization. It's a high-trust, one-to-one partnership grounded in real leadership contexts.

I don't use rigid curricula or homework-heavy programs. I work directly with what's happening in your role, your organization and your life right now.

Clients often tell me the work feels:

  • Grounding

  • Clarifying

  • Relieving in ways they didn't expect

Not because leadership changes overnight, but because the internal cost finally does.
